Saturday, August 1st 2009 1 August 2009 saw the 20th birthday of the introduction of the VAT “option to tax” certain property transactions. The option can only be revoked 20 years after it was exercised. If such an option was made at the very first opportunity on its introduction, 1 August 2009 represents the first occasion on which it can be revoked. < Back to News Headlines |
